Lowe Memorial is a large,
thriving congregation of about 450 families (approximately 1000
members).
It is our desire to be a
church for everyone in the community just as we recognise that
God loves passionately everyone who lives here.
Lowe Memorial is a community church which means we are based in the
local community with a desire to make know the claims of Jesus and to
serve all people regardless of background. We belong to the
Presbyterian Church in Ireland which is a denomination born out of
revival in the 1620 –1640s in Ireland. This is a different
denomination to that of the Free Presbyterian Church which was formed
less than 50 years ago by Ian Paisley and include the Reformed and
Evangelical Presbyterian Churches. Confused? Denominations can be –
even with rich heritages of faith!
As a church, we welcome everyone to our events, programmes and
services. Anyone can belong. Above all else and like so many other
churches across all traditions, we want to be the kind of Church Jesus
intended the Church to be! Without sectarianism, loving and faithful,
justice for the poor, helping those in need; a place where sinners can
find a home and everyone can grow in knowing God through Christ. On
the next page is a list of our Values – the things we hope
to live by; followed by our
Vision and Purpose Statements. If you
do find a bit of free time to come along, we would love to meet you.
