CLEARING our VISION

This year marks 75 years of Lowe’s ministry and witness within the wider Finaghy and South Belfast area.

To help us engage in another 75 years of service, the whole congregation was invited to take part in a conference called Clearing Our Vision. Facilitated by ‘Evangelical Ministries’, we followed a course designed to help us think through several aspects of our church’s life: firstly, the calling of a local church; secondly, the mission of a local church; and finally, how local Christians might achieve their mission.

By this time 'Aims Teams' have begun. Please pray for these teams as they spend time thinking, discussing and praying about specific areas of our Church’s work and Vision. We would also like to encourage everyone to get involved in an Aims Team – there is so much to do I don’t think we will ever have too many people! Updates will be available throughout the summer months.

Together, all of us form ‘Lowe’ and so it is important that all of us participate in developing a vision for the future – under God’s supervision, of course.

See also our Vision and Purpose Statements.

MUSIC @ LOWE

Are you musical? The following are ways you might like to get involved in playing at services or leading worship:

The 8/15 Group: a music group for all those between the ages of 8 and 15 who can play a musical instrument.

Praise Bands: we have two Praise Bands with lots of room for new musicians.

Lowe ‘Wind, Strings, Brass’: if you have a musical gift in any of these categories and are willing, expect to play regularly at our services as well as on the ‘Lowe Orchestra’ Sundays.

Organ Rota: if you can play the Organ, our organist Joe Furphy would be glad to hear from you. Why not join the Organ rota for services and other special occasions?

Lowe Consort: if you like singing, then Lowe Consort is for you.

MEETING OTHERS

At Lowe, we encourage everyone of whatever age group to meet up with other members of the church during the week.

Contact Groups

Contact Groups were launched in 2004 and currently over 100 members of Lowe are involved, meeting weekly on a Wednesday night. Contact Groups are a great way to get to know people, develop friendships and learn together about God through bible study. The atmosphere is always relaxed and nonpressurised; and Contact Groups also enjoy social evenings together e.g. cinema, dining out and other recreation. Belonging to a Contact Group is a real must for anyone wanting to get more out of their membership at Lowe. (Other Contact Groups meet as follows: one on Thursday night and one on Tuesday afternoon, the latter fortnightly at 2pm. More information is available from the Secretary.) The programme is flexible in terms of when each Contact Group organises its events. More information about our Contact Groups, where they meet and their leaders is available at the Information Desk in Lowe. Alternatively, to register interest please call our Secretary.
