A QUESTION?… How many people pray in the UK? How many people go to church? According to one newspaper article, two-thirds of us pray regularly in Britain and Ireland: that’s about 45 million people. How many people go to church? Probably around 6 – 10 million. Why do so many people who pray never find their way into church? As one of my friends said to me recently: “I get Jesus, I just don’t get church”! Our greatest desire is for you to rediscover who Jesus really is. Our greatest desire is for you and all of our community to rediscover who Jesus really is. According to the Gospels we are like prodigal children searching for meaning and fulfilment in the world. From countless wells we have dropped and raised ours buckets in search of something which will make sense of life. Jesus’ call is for his children to come home to him and he will give us something to drink and something to eat which will satisfy and nurture in us the understanding, love and acceptance of God. Wherever you are, maybe it’s time to begin a journey of belonging and meaning? Jesus says: “I have come to give you life and life to the full”.
