1. In the Vestibule:
- Handmade Cards, £1.50 in aid of the Fulani School, Nigeria.
2. Tea/Coffee is served each week between the two morning services.
3. Would Elders please collect the Annual Reports for their district from the table in the link corridor.
4. Tuesday prayers - 7am – 8am and 8.30am – 9.15am in the Lounge.
5. Tuesday Circle – 22nd May – Outing to Dobbies Garden Centre – Browse in the shop and enjoy Afternoon Tea. We leave Lowe at 2pm. This will be the last get together before the summer.
6. PLEASE NOTE change of date for the Open Door Lunches. There will be no lunches on Tuesday 22nd May and the last lunches of this season will be on Tuesday 29th May from 12noon – 1.30pm. in the Corkey Hall.
7. Session Meeting – Tuesday 22nd May at 7pm.
8. Please pray for the Ministers and Pastors meeting on Tuesday from 12noon until 2pm. Copies of the ministers flyer are available today but there are proper invitational flyers coming soon which you will be able to give to friends and family. Keep praying for Revival! Thanks.
9. Important Announcement - On Sunday 27th May our church services will be as follow: due to the number of people who will be away on the church weekend: One morning service only at 10.30am; and in the evening we will be joining Dunmurry Presbyterian Church for a night of Jazz Praise at 7pm. Following on from this there will be one united service in the morning at 10.30am and our usual evening service at 7.00pm.
10. The General Assembly – the Church Assembly meets on Monday 28th May – Thursday 31st May. The evening Celebrations on Monday and Wednesday nights are open to everyone. You can also pop into the public gallery during the day. Please remember Dr Roy Patton as he assumes the role of Moderator for this incoming year.
11. Christian Aid. Thanks to everyone who contributed to Christian Aid this week The lunch alone raised £3000!
12. Summer Rota for children’s church - We are looking for people to sign up for the summer term to help in children’s church. We need both people who are happy to teach a lesson and ideally at least two helpers for each week. Please sign up at the information desk or see Carl. If you haven’t been Access NI cleared, don’t worry, it’s a simple process and can be sorted in a few weeks.
13. Gift for the Bowers. Chris, Krista and the boys are heading back to the States in June and their final day with us will be on Sunday 10th June (Chris will preach his last sermon on Sunday 3rd June). If you would like to celebrate their ministry among us by sharing in a gift for the family please do so by simply placing an envelope marked “The Bower Family” into the offering plate over the next few Sundays. 14. Farewells and Sending Lunch. On June 10th there will be a very special farewells and sending out lunch at Lowe following our 10.30am service. This will be an opportunity to raise funds for all of our young people and adults who are serving in overseas and cross-cultural missions this summer as well as to say good-bye to the Bowers and one or two other members of the congregation who are moving homes. It will be a very special occasion. If you would like to attend this wonderful event then please sign up at the information desk asap. Unfortunately due to recent demand we are unable to offer a space to anyone who has not signed up. SO PLEASE SIGN UP TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.
15. Included at the back of the Annual Report is an outline of the Development Plan for the church buildings presented to the Congregational meeting. Please study this carefully and consider prayerfully your support. Elders and Committee members have already pledged £300,000 towards the cost. We would be so encouraged if all our members wholeheartedly endorsed the project. If we all contribute what we can it is very achievable. Please put your pledge responses in the box in the vestibule. 16. Bobby Keag, David Wilson, Lockie Kilpatrick and Colin Baird are going to the Ukraine on the 8th June to help Ted Harrison and friends paint the CEF mission building. If you would like to support them in buying the materials for this project please put your contribution in a Special Offering envelope (available at the information desk) marked CEF project.
17. Inbetween Steam @ Jazz Mystery Tour, departing Central Station 15 June at 7.20pm (returns 11.45pm). Join us on a restored 1960’s steam train, and enjoy the Apex Jazz Band at various stops along the way, £24/person. Please confirm asap with Stephen Surphlis 07771 966 299.
18. There will be a concert by the Dublin Orchestral Players in aid of the SOS Bus (who provide a safe haven for vulnerable people on the streets of Belfast) in Fisherwick Presbyterian Church on Saturday 2nd June at 7.30pm. The programme includes Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto and Beethoven’s 5th Symphony. Tickets cost £12 (concession £10). Light refreshments will be served after the concert.
